Roman gilt bronze centre boss brooch. Circa 200-300 CE. A large oval brooch with heavily gilt surfaces and a large conical black glass setting at its centre. Copper-alloy, 16.49g. 34mm. Ref: Hattatt's (2000) p.364 no.1212. An impressive well preserved example complete with pin. From an old English collection, accompanied by old delears ticket and purchase receipt.
